Meet Suzanne

I've always believed that the right words can bring real meaning to life's most important moments.

Hello, I'm Suzanne.
Before becoming a celebrant, I was an English teacher, and my love of stories and language still shapes everything I do.
I’m a long-time admirer of the Brontë sisters and spent time working with the education team at the Brontë Parsonage Museum—an experience that deepened my love of storytelling, the Brontë family and the moors.
Outside of work, I love walking in the Dales with my husband and our Labrador (who is a very good girl). I love nothing more than a walk to a pub or a stone circle: I am completely entranced by the mysteries of ancient Briton.
Aside from walking, I don't do that much exercise. I had a convenient injury that stopped me from running. I do however tell people I do yoga, although my daughters tell me I am not doing yoga, I'm just breathing on a mat! But I'm going with it!
I am a big reader and belong to a little neighbourhood book club. I also sing in a community choir that raises lots of money for local charities.
Honouring every journey, from weddings to farewells
Family at the heart of it

I am very lucky to have been happily married for 25 years. We have two grown up daughters: Olivia works in theatre and is a professional singer, and Isabel is an events project manager.
Family is at the heart of everything I do, they make me exceptionally happy, and I like to make them feel proud of what I contribute to the world.
I bring all of this knowledge, experience and love into the ceremonies I create—making them meaningful, thoughtful, beautiful and completely true to you.
"We had the pleasure of working with Suzanne for our wedding, and she was nothing short of fantastic. From the start, she was approachable and friendly, making collaboration a breeze. Many of our guests remarked on how beautiful the ceremony was, highlighting Suzanne’s skill and warmth."

Training & Professional Bodies
I have invested in myself, so you will feel secure investing in me:
I am a member of the Civil Celebrant Connection, where I engage with continuous personal development.
I graduated from The Celebrant Training School in 2024 as an accredited professional celebrant and benefit from a mentorship scheme with them.
Having the required training, insurance, skills and attributes, I have been permitted to adopt both The Celebrant Charter and The Celebrant Accord (specifically for funerals). I am proud to work under their guidance and jurisdiction.
